“If you feel uncomfortable in it, take it offi, as you will look as uncomfortable as you feel,” Abbie Byrom-Botello says of her fashion philosophy. A true go-getter, Byrom-Botello leads PR, marketing and product development for TRUTH BBQ and serves as a fractional CMO for Sky High for Kids, a cause close to her heart. “I’ve always believed that when we look good, we feel good—and I’m not just talking about fashion,” notes Shundra Harris, founder of her eponymous interiors brand and owner of Seminars by Design. “The clothes we wear, the homes we live in and the places where we work all influence how we show up in the world.” This fall, Harris takes the reins as chair of ASID’s National Board, while her passions span design, mentoring aspiring designers and helping people create spaces where they can feel their best. “It all comes back to helping people thrive,” she says. What’s next for this tour de force? “Professionally, there are exciting things on the horizon,” she says. “Personally, I am saying yes to more experiences. I want more passport stamps, more beautiful hotels, more museums, more long dinners and more conversations with interesting people. The best ideas rarely show up at my desk—they usually find me somewhere unexpected.”

Wake-Up Time: 6:30 a.m. My body clock beats my alarm every morning.

My Aesthetic: Tailored. Colorful. Architectural. Effortlessly polished.

My Most Cherished Accessory: A great pair of statement earrings. And con dence—nothing looks better.

My Uniform: A tailored blazer, wide-leg trousers or denim, a great heel and bold accessories.

Beauty Staple: Healthy, glowing skin and a lip color that says, “I came to play.”

Ultimate Fashion Splurge: A Louis Vuitton crossbody that works on a job site and in the boardroom.

Signature Scent: Fresh citrus and crisp linen. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue and Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin.

Best Advice: Meet people where they are. Listen before you lead.

3 Desert Island Essentials: My favorite playlist, a colorful cocktail and someone who knows how to get us off the island.

Last Meal On Earth: Thanksgiving dinner. It’s about the people around the table as much as the food.

Signature Sip: Espresso in the morning. A smooth reposado in the evening.

Bedtime: Around 10:30 p.m.— unless inspiration strikes.

A top career highlight? “Opening my own business full of brands I have admired for years, mixed with brands I have curated from all over the world,” says Audrey Muse, founder of Louis Muse Boutique and Curation in Houston’s Upper Kirby neighborhood. “I am constantly looking for artisans who not only deserve a wider audience but need the audience to be able to provide for themselves and a family … and let’s be real, they usually are the most talented.” Muse’s signature look? “Fun pants” paired with a white tee. “If I do say so myself, my collection of pants is pretty fab,” she says.
