The Hotel at Avalon (thehotelatavalon.com), the luxury boutique hotel at Alpharetta’s Avalon mixed-use development, kicked off Memorial Day weekend with its annual Sip Into Summer celebration, bringing together fashion, live entertainment and community for an afternoon headlined by internationally renowned fashion photographer and television personality Nigel Barker. Barker was joined by local tastemakers and retail partners for the seasonal event, which drew a stylish crowd despite an unexpected change in plans.

Originally scheduled to take place outdoors, the event moved indoors due to inclement weather. The transition proved seamless, as guests embraced the intimate setting in colorful summer attire, creating a lively atmosphere that carried throughout the afternoon. Barker served as the event’s featured guest, mingling with attendees and lending his fashion industry perspective to a celebration centered on style and the start of the summer season.
Fashion remained at the forefront of the experience. Lilly Pulitzer dressed Avalon ambassadors in the brand’s signature resortwear and vibrant floral prints, providing a colorful visual backdrop that reflected the spirit of summer. Tommy Bahama styled Barker in a relaxed coastal-inspired look while also inviting guests to participate in the brand experience through a $50 in-store promotion and a raffle for a $250 gift card.
