Founded in 2005 as Wolstenholme Associates, the firm has built a reputation throughout the Delaware Valley and along the East Coast for creating timeless, functional, and beautifully crafted homes. Recognizing the value of a fully integrated design process, WA Interiors was established in 2015 as the firm’s interior design division before launching as an independent company in 2025. In 2026, both firms introduced a unified rebrand, formally establishing Wolstenholme Architects alongside WA Interiors while reinforcing our shared commitment to exceptional design and client service.
While our firms have evolved, our approach has remained the same: exceptional designs begin with listening to our clients. We take the time to understand how our clients live, entertain, and envision their homes. That insight becomes the foundation for every design decision, resulting in homes that feel both personal and enduring.
Collaboration is equally essential. Architecture and interior design are developed together through the partnership between Wolstenholme Architects and WA Interiors, with builders, landscape architects, engineers, technology consultants, and clients involved from the outset. This integrated approach creates stronger design solutions, minimizes delays and costly changes, and helps keep projects on schedule and within budget. It has also earned us lasting client relationships, with much of our work coming through repeat clients, referrals, and trusted professional partnerships.
Additionally, we believe that establishing a realistic construction budget before design begins is just as important. Early planning allows creativity to flourish within clear financial parameters, helping clients avoid the disappointment of falling in love with a design that exceeds their budget.
Our experience extends beyond design as well. Having also served as developers on projects in Bucks County and Stone Harbor, we understand the process from the owner’s perspective, giving us valuable insight into budgeting, scheduling, and decision making. We also provide property evaluations during a client’s due diligence period, helping determine whether a property aligns with their vision before purchase. This service has saved clients significant time, expense, and disappointment by identifying stronger opportunities before they commit.
Over the past two decades, our work has earned numerous honors for architectural design, historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and client satisfaction. Awards include multiple AIA Bucks County Design, Honor, and Merit Awards, Preservation Achievement Awards, Home Builders Association Awards for Custom Home Design and Custom Home of the Year, Bucks County’s Best Architect honors, and multiple Best of Houzz Design and Service Awards. In 2015, we also received the inaugural Stewardship Award from the Doylestown Revitalization Board for our commitment to preserving the region’s architectural heritage.
Our projects have been featured in Architectural Digest, Travel + Leisure, New Jersey Magazine, Philadelphia Business Journal, Elle Online, Zillow Gone Wild, Bucks & Montgomery Living, Local Living Magazine, and other regional and national publications and have been selected for prominent architectural tours and exhibitions.
Among our most celebrated projects is the restoration and expansion of the historic Carversville Inn, a nationally recognized example of preserving a landmark while adapting it for contemporary hospitality. The project received a Preservation Achievement Award from the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia, Preservation Pennsylvania’s “Construction Rehabilitation Award”, and national recognition in Travel + Leisure.
Another signature project is the Fullam House, an iconic mid-century modern residence designed by renowned architect Paul Rudolph. Working from one of Rudolph’s original unbuilt sketches, we completed an addition that expanded the home while honoring the integrity of his vision. Today, the Fullam House is one of the region’s most recognized mid-century modern homes and gained national attention after being featured on Zillow Gone Wild.
Ultimately, our greatest accomplishment is the trust our clients place in us. Many return for additional projects and renovations, while others introduce us to the next generation of their family. Years after a project is complete, we often receive notes describing how much their homes have enriched their lives.
