Sienna Spiro has officially made her VMAs debut. The singer took the stage at the Peacock Theatre tonight and delivered a gorgeous rendition of her single, “Great Expectation.”
Spiro hit the stage in a plated silver minidress and was accompanied by a live band for the performance.
The singer is nominated tonight for Best New Artist, which marks her first-ever nod in any category at the VMAs. Stella Lefty, Malcolm Todd, Bella Kay, CORTIS, Myles Smith, and Magnus Ferrell are also in the running.
The nomination comes on the heels of Spiro releasing her debut album, Visitor, in July. In April, the singer told ELLE that the recording process made her realize that she has a little more self-esteem than she previously believed.
“I have a little bit more confidence than I did, which is a nice thing in a way, because I used to doubt everything, but I have a bit more confidence,” Spiro explained. “I’m really inspired at the moment and I’m very excited.”
Shortly after learning of her nomination, Spiro posted a video of herself dramatically falling to her knees in prayer in the hopes of winning the Best New Artist award. “First VMA nomination, kinda nervous,” the video text read.
In the caption, Spiro encouraged her fans to continue supporting her through online voting. “Wowwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…thank you so much,” she wrote. “You can vote every day I believe.”
