Kate Middleton’s New Signature Look Is Straight Out of Princess Diana’s Playbook

After a week that saw the Prince and Princess of Wales drop their son Prince George off for his first day at Eton College, following in the footsteps of his father three decades ago, the couple stepped out together again this afternoon in Liverpool.

On a visit to Everton FC’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium, Kate Middleton rewore her cornflower-blue tailored trouser suit from Edeline Lee, with a high-waisted, flared trouser and slim-cut jacket, which she also wore earlier this year in Reggio Emilia, Italy. She accessorized with a chunky chain necklace. The princess previously chose blue tailoring for a day at Wimbledon over the summer, taking up her spot in the stands in a periwinkle Gabriela Hearst suit. Last summer she wore a slim-fitting blue suit by Alexander McQueen for a visit to the new V&A East Storehouse, which she previously chose for a trip to London’s Evelina Children’s Hospital. It’s become something of a fashion formula for the princess, easily one of the most photographed women in the world: if in doubt, reach for a blue suit and heels.
